Sexual assault/abuse counselling
This services offers individual and group therapy to clients 16 years and over who have been effected by sexual assault and/or past sexual abuse and includes information, referral, court preparation, advocacy and community education.
Youth Service
This service offers young people (13 – 16 sexual assault/abuse 13-18 family violence) and their families medium to long term counselling, information, referrals, court preparation, advocacy & community education.
Crisis Service
This service offers immediate crisis counselling (no wait-listing) to people 13 years and over who have been recently sexually assaulted, or have recently disclosed sexual abuse for the first time. (currently for forensic and medical examinations individuals are referred to SARC in Subiaco)
Domestic Violence Service
This service offer individual counselling to women 18 and over who have experienced domestic/family violence
Group therapy
Allambee conducts two therapy groups “Heartworks” and “Chrysalids” – They are closed groups (ie can not start halfway through) and they run for 8 weeks usually on a Tuesday morning 9:30-12 noon.
Heartworks if offered in the 1st and 3rd (school) terms – Heartworks is an introductory group for Individuals who have not experienced group therapy before. It is structured and introduces process such as art therapy, guided visualizations and meditations, movement to music, psycho-education, communication skills and so on.
Chrysalids 2nd and 4th (school) terms – Chrysalids is for individuals who have done heartworks or other therapy group work before. It works at a deeper level and is less structured.
Eligibility for Allambee groups – 16 and over, effected by sexual abuse or sexual assault (i.e a mother or auntie of a child who has been abused, a survivor of abuse)
Duty Officer
First contact will be through the duty officer – Allambee believes in the empowerment of our clients and as such has a strict self referral policy (in other words the client must tell us that they want counselling) – The duty officer also is available for phone counselling.
Aboriginal Service
Allambee currently has on staff two Aboriginal Cultural Advisors/educators – Their role is to work in conjunction with Allambee’s counselling staff to increase awareness, access and equity for the Peel Aboriginal Community to our sexual assault and family violence services.
