Turning
Tides.
Turning Tides supports young people who have displayed harmful sexual behaviours, as well as their parents, caregivers and families.
We provide counselling and advocacy to support young people (12-18 years) to reduce or cease harmful sexual behaviours, improve their wellbeing, and build safety for themselves, as well as others.
To achieve this, the support provided by Turning Tides can include:
- Comprehensive individual and family assessment
- Risk management and safety planning
- Counselling/therapeutic interventions (individual and inclusive of parents, caregivers or family members)
- Advocacy
- Linkages to and assistance to access services
- Collaborative case management with allied services
- Psychoeducation (including the role of pornography, consent etc.)
Who we support
We accept referrals for young people who are:
- High school age (typically 12-18 years),
- Who have displayed harmful sexual behaviour,
- Live within the South and South-East Metropolitan areas of Perth, or within the Binjareb region, and;
- Have not been convicted of a sexual offence
